The Indycar also takes measures against the coronavirus. The American racing class postpones the first four races of the season. With this they determine that there will be no races until the end of April. The races in St. Petersburg, Birmingham, Long Beach and Austin have therefore been taken off the calendar.

At first, the race in St. Petersburg would be run without an audience, but the organisation has nevertheless chosen to completely remove the race from the program.

IndyCar itself also confirms this news: "After intensive consultation with our promoters, health officials and the city administrations of the relevant COVID-19 circuits, we have decided to cancel all IndyCar events in April."

"Although we are disappointed to postpone the start of the season, the safety of the fans, drivers, staff, partners and media is always our top priority. We will, therefore, remain in close contact with the expert and local authorities about how the season will resume." The next Grand Prix in America will be the Indianapolis Grand Prix, which will be followed by the Indy 500 on the weekend of May 22-24.
