Mark Webber: "He is more complete than Michael"

Lewis Hamilton has an opportunity in 2020 to equal a record we never thought anybody would get close to just a few years ago, with this season presenting him with the chance to match Michael Schumacher's record of seven world titles. The Brit can also take Schumacher's record of 91 wins if he takes eight more victories.

Schumacher set the benchmark following his era of F1 domination, securing five titles in a row from 2000 to 2004, but Hamilton has had his old golden period recently, winning five of the last six championships, winning 62 races in that time.

Because of Hamilton's recent success, fans and pundits have been comparing him to the German, and Mark Webber, who raced against both, says that Hamilton has the edge.

Webber told SpeedCafe.com that Hamilton is already one of the best racers in F1's history: "Absolutely, there is no doubt about that. I also think he is more complete than Michael.

"Hamilton has achieved his results in a technically cleaner way, simply through wheel-to-wheel battles and no dirty tricks when it comes to contact with other drivers.

"Hamilton looks extremely hungry and motivated, just like Mercedes under the leadership of Toto Wolff. They are still a great combination and will frighten the other teams. Of course we have to wait a little while in Melbourne, because the preparation is and remains a lottery.”
