Frédéric Vasseur: "It's important we carry this momentum into the winter months"

The Formula One season is fastly approaching its conclusion with the final race in Abu Dhabi this weekend. Alfa Romeo team principal Frédéric Vasseur is looking for his team to take momentum into the winter as well as next season.

It has been a mixed season for the team, Kimi Raikkonen has collected 43 points to put him in twelfth in the drivers' standings, while his teammate Antonio Giovinazzi has 14 points, putting him 17th.

“We arrive in Abu Dhabi still buzzing from the great result from the last race," he said in Alfa Romeo's preview.

"It will be important to channel these good spirits into positive energy for this final event of the season, one where there is so much at stake.

"Battle for seventh place in the championship aside, we still need to aim for a good result this weekend. It will be important to finish the season well to carry this momentum into the winter months and onto 2020.”

That leaves plenty to race for in Abu Dhabi for Alfa Romeo.
