Hamilton: "Red Bull are really fast in the long runs"

Lewis Hamilton still hasn't recorded a pole position since the German Grand Prix. The British driver needs to outscore Valtteri Bottas by 14 points to win his sixth world championship title this weekend. He's looking forward to the fight after qualifying in P4 but believes a 3rd place was possible.

"A third place would have been possible," he says in front of the camera at Sky Sports . “The latter sector went completely wrong [due to the Bottas crash] I am generally happy with today. We knew that the others would be strong here. I gave everything."

After yesterday's free practice sessions, Hamilton had considerable criticism for the Pirelli's tyres. He thinks that they will play a crucial role in tomorrow's Mexican Grand Prix.

“The red bull is really very fast on the long run. It will be interesting to see who can drive on their tires the longest. That will be an interesting game tomorrow. It will be a tough job to keep up with those others, but I am really looking forward to it," he added.
