You have to aim for a tree and hope it hasn't been moved

This year, Spa-Francorchamps will be the last home race for Max Verstappen, with his fans filling the stands with orange. Next year Zandvoort is on the calendar, but that does not take away from the characteristic Spa.

"I was in the corner in 1998 when they made a huge bang at the start. I still have a piece of a McLaren at home. That was really the day I fell in love with Formula 1. Spa has always been special to me because I was allowed to make my test debut in Formula 1 for Jordan. That came after a victory in the F3000, with a difference of more than one minute. Eddie Jordan promised, so I got the test," he told De Telegraaf.

"Eau Rouge is, of course, great, since you are sitting very low in a Formula 1 car and you really do not know where you are going. You just have to aim for a tree and hope it has not been moved. The Orange Army will again be present on the circuit in large numbers this year, because in my eyes there is no better place to start the second half of the season," he concludes.
