Lewis Hamilton insists he wants to make new ventures following the conclusion of his racing career. The five-time world champion said he would rather do this than take the easy option and remain connected with roles inside the sport.

Hamilton, 33, is still contracted with Mercedes until at the least the end of the 2020 season. This year, Hamilton has worked on more projects outside F1 than ever before which include his fashion brand.

But speaking at an event for Mercedes partner Hewlett Packard Enterprises, the Silver Arrows driver said he's still unsure what life will be like after the chequered flag drops on his career.

"I don't really know what's beyond F1. A lot of sportsmen and women, when they stop competing, they've done it their whole life," Hamilton said.

"I've been racing since I was eight. All my focus has been on this. In my part-time role outside F1, I'm trying to figure out what else I want to do or get involved in. Naturally, it's super-easy for me to come to all the Grands Prix after I've been racing, even to be the number two to Toto [Wolf] perhaps.

“I’ve been racing it for years, I know it just as well as anyone else. [But] I’m more intrigued to learn something new."
