With all the turmoil going on within Red Bull Racing, there were news about that people would want to leave within the team. For example, Max Verstappen could leave if certain people leave the team. Adrian Newey is also being linked to other teams, but according to team principal Christian Horner, a departure of the Chief Technical Officer is not on the cards.

Last week, GPblog reported that Verstappen intends to stay at Red Bull Racing. In doing so, camp Verstappen has one condition: the success team must stay together. This includes Helmut Marko, but of course also the composition of the rest of the team. Verstappen himself told in Japan that one person could always leave, that could happen. However, he did stress that he would love it if Newey stays.

Indeed, the chief technical officer has been linked to Aston Martin. Talks are said to have taken place between Newey and that team's executive chairman Lawrence Stroll. The man who has been working for Red Bull Racing since 2006 was also linked to Ferrari.

Newey to stay at Red Bull Racing?

Horner was asked about the situation surrounding Newey during the race weekend in Japan. To this, the team principal replied clearly: "Adrian's an important part and long-term part of our team. He's enmeshed within the team. There's always going to be interest in Adrian for sure."
