Work is currently in full swing on a Formula 1 film, which stars Brad Pitt (60) and involves Lewis Hamilton. Much is expected from the production, but Max Verstappen is not necessarily looking forward to it: "I don't need to watch a film about my own sport."

As a producer, Hamilton is one of the driving forces behind the project. Pitt plays a retired racing driver who is asked to take a young talent under his wing in Formula 1. Naturally, everyone is curious to see whether Pitt manages to transform the young talent into a winning F1 driver. The film has no title as yet.

Formula 1 Magazine asked Verstappen if he had seen any of Pitt's previous films. The three-time world champion answered, stating that he liked Pitt in films like Ocean's Eleven and Ocean's Twelve. However, he is not curious how the top actor will fare in the upcoming Formula One film.

Verstappen already watched scenes

"During the American Grand Prix in Austin, I saw a couple of clips for the new film. They were shown during the Drivers Meeting, with some explanation how they had filmed those scenes. It’s cool to see that, that’s not my issue, but in truth it doesn’t interest me so much. I don’t have to watch a movie about my own sport. This movie is about a made-up scenario, which means it will get overdramatised, and you need to be into that. I don’t really," Verstappen said.

The 26-year-old Dutchman is also not a big fan of the Netflix documentary Drive to Survive. In fact, Verstappen was not featured in it for several seasons because he felt things were always taken too much out of context. From the 2022 season, however, he was filmed again, after agreements were made with Netflix.
