Despite Christian Horner being cleared of transgressive behaviour after an internal investigation, things remain unsettled within the team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Sky analyst Ralf Schumacher also sees tempers running high regarding the Austrian constructor. The German sees only one solution.

"I believe that if you already see the sentiment against him now, he is not tenable. He really should just resign now for the sake of the team," Schumacher told Sky Sports' German branch. Red Bull's Austrian arm reportedly wanted to get rid of Horner, while the Thai owner wants to keep Horner in his position.

Schumacher's advice for Red Bull

Schumacher has another message for Red Bull's Thai owner Chalerm Yoovidhya. "I think the Thai side of Red Bull should also recognise this (resigning the best thing Horner can do, ed.) now. There is no point in sticking with Horner as he is doing now," the German concluded. Yoovidhya owns 51 per cent of Red Bull shares, making him very powerful within the company.

On Monday evening, Horner met with Raymond Vermeulen, Verstappen's manager. The meeting attempted to clear the air between Horner and the Verstappen camp. The talks between Horner and Verstappen's manager reportedly went well. Max and Jos Verstappen were not present at the talks.
