Horner explains Red Bull team have taken 'bold step' with RB20

Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner is hugely enthusiastic about his team new car, the RB20. During test days in Bahrain, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez could already be seen working in the car for the new season.

"The technical team did a great job during last season, and of course also during the last half of the season," Christian Horner told us. "It's obviously a long season, and hopefully we have a good base to build on."

Still, test days do not say everything, the Red Bull team principal also knows. "It is difficult to draw too many conclusions from the times, except that we don't know what fuel our competitors are using, and how much power they are using. So we only know what we ourselves are doing," the Briton, who has recently been in disrepute, revealed.

Red Bull needed to be innovative

"I think we can say we have a good car, a good base, and the feedback from the drivers has been encouraging. You can see that the team has taken a bold step with the car, they have not been conservative. The team have come up with some very innovative solutions, especially for the cooling of the car."
