What is Angela Cullen doing now, Lewis Hamilton's former physiotherapist?
Lewis Hamilton moved on without his physiotherapist, Angela Cullen, in 2023. The pair were inseparable for years, but the partnership was nevertheless coming to an end. What is Hamilton's former right-hand man doing now?
In March 2023, Lewis Hamilton and Angela Cullen announced the news: the partnership was ending. At the time, no reason was given for the split. Cullen reports that it was time for a new adventure and Hamilton spoke words to the same effect. Hamilton reinforces his team with some new faces.

Cullen disappear and that after years of loyal service. In 2016, Cullen starts as Hamilton's physio when Hamilton's regular mentor Aki Hintsa passes away. With her blonde locks, the New Zealand-born Cullen stands out immediately and rarely misses a race. She is therefore hugely grateful for the opportunity at Hamilton's side when she announces her departure in 2023.
Cullen is no stranger to elite sport anyway. Cullen herself was an active hockey international for New Zealand between the ages of 15 and 21. Later, she also joined the British Athletics Association, where she coached the 4x100-metre relay team, among others. That team took the gold medal at the 2004 Olympics.
Hamilton's physio at Mercedes
Cullen joined the Mercedes team in 2016 as Hamilton's new physio. It was not an ideal year for Hamilton. Although Mercedes took the world title for the third time in a row, Hamilton lost the duel to teammate Nico Rosberg in the battle for the world driver's title, together with Cullen, Hamilton won the world title again in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Why Hamilton and Cullen are no longer working together
In announcing the departure, neither Hamilton nor Cullen gave a reason for the split. Later in 2023, Toto Wolff revealed why the two broke up. According to the Mercedes team boss, it would have been Lewis Hamilton's wish to stop working with Cullen.
Since her announced departure, Cullen has been particularly active on Instagram. The New Zealand native still looks back on some great moments at Hamilton's side, but also seems to travel the world in particular. Cullen, meanwhile, also has 527 thousand followers on Instagram.
