Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, the two are regarded as two of the best drivers of all time. In 2021, the now both multiple world champions fought a titanic duel. After that season, nobody has really been able to challenge Verstappen, but according to Christijan Albers, Lando Norris could rise to the level of Verstappen and Hamilton in the future.

The still relatively young Briton has shown he is a good driver. He grabbed his first pole position in 2021, and last season the McLaren driver competed often enough for the podium spots. A win was yet to come.

'Norris can grow to level Verstappen and Hamilton'

In his column in De Telegraaf, Albers says he has high expectations of the Briton: "Lando Norris is someone who in time can grow to the level of Verstappen and Hamilton. He was put under pressure a couple of times by rookie Oscar Piastri, especially in qualifying, but Norris showed a little after that who is boss. He was really much faster than Piastri on Sundays."

Piastri did well during his debut season, but according to Albers, it remains to be seen whether this will continue in his second season: "A debut season like that is always different. Then you are under less pressure. (You) also saw that with George Russell at Hamilton's side, because Russell was generally the lesser in the races in his second Mercedes year anyway."
