Magnussen had few highlights: "not been any better than that"

While Red Bull Racing will have a fine Christmas after all their successes in 2023, the atmosphere at the table with members of Haas is undoubtedly a lot less pleasant. The American team - not for the first time - finished last in the constructors' championship. Kevin Magnussen, for instance, scored just three points.

How do you sum up a season like that? "There's not been any great highlights unfortunately. There have been races where I've been extremely happy with a P10, which just shows what kind of season we've had. But those races where points have been on the table have been the highlights. Unfortunately, it's not been any better than that," Kevin Magnussen told GPblog and others.

Magnussen has hopes of a better 2024

Haas deployed a fully updated car for the first time at the US Grand Prix, but it brought little (if any) success. The team is hopeful that things will be a lot better in 2024, again with Nico Hulkenberg and Magnussen at the wheel.

"Well, I think the upgraded car is more in line with the plan for next year; the concept looks like what we think of for next year. So, it's not actually got more downforce on paper, it's not faster, but it is better to drive," Magnussen said.

"It's easier, the balance is more consistent and that's why you don't see a step back when we run the new spec, although it's got less downforce. I think that's what we need to go into the winter, developing in that direction and hopefully we can take a step forward for next year because it's not been an easy year for sure."
