Toto Wolff saw 'personal attack': 'This crossed the line'

Although the FIA stopped the investigation into Susie and Toto Wolff's alleged conflict of interest after only 24 hours, the matter is certainly not over for the Mercedes team boss. During an interview with German magazine Sport Bild, Wolff reveals that he is still furious about the whole thing.

When Wolff first heard about an investigation, the Austrian was in a technical meeting with his team. Immediately he left, seeking more information. That the FIA informed the media and not (first) him and his wife Susie isn't well received. Barely a day later, the FIA announced that there would be no further investigation into the Wolff couple.

Wolff has 'thick skin'

"After ten years as a team boss, I'm already [used to hearing things], but this story was shocking," Wolff told Sport Bild. "When I'm caught in the crossfire, that's not a problem for me at all. I have developed a thick skin and can take it. But when you go after my family, it's a different level. An absurd accusation was created out of nowhere. It was a personal attack that crossed a red line. [Susie and I] are professional enough to keep our different fields of expertise apart. I don't really see where our work has much overlap with each other."

Toto Wolff previously revealed that he is exploring legal options to clear his name and that of his wife. Susie also already responded to the matter. She wants to see how the accusation entered the world.
