Alfa Romeo team boss Alessandro Alunni Bravi is happy with driver Guanyu Zhou. Zhou scored 'only' six points this Formula 1 season, but that does not stop his team boss from fine words. Despite praise from Alunni Bravi, the Italian still sees some areas for improvement in his Chinese driver.

"We expect Zhou to take the next step. He has improved compared to last season," Alunni Bravi explained to Motorsport Aktuell. "He also managed to reach Valtteri's level in qualifying now. He still has room for improvement when it comes to managing the race," he continued.

Bravi on Zhou's areas for improvement at Alfa Romeo

When the team boss of the Swiss team is asked what things need to improve with his 24-year-old driver, he knows immediately. "We want to see him find his limit from the first lap in the first free practice. That's where he needs to improve. We cannot wait half a session because the performance density in Formula 1 is high. We need both drivers to reach the limit."

In September, news broke that Zhou had extended his contract at Alfa Romeo until the end of 2024. Together with teammate Valtteri Bottas, he thus forms the Swiss team's line-up, including for next season.
