Retiring F1 driver Fernando Alonso has denied that he will drive in Formula E next season.

However, Alonso acknowledged his familiarity with the series but has said that he's not interested in taking part next season.

Alonso announced earlier this season that he'd be retiring from the sport at the end of the campaign.

Speaking to AS, he was asked about the Formula E programme: "All motorsport categories are interesting to me. I watch them on television, I like what I see because I am passionate about motorsport, but I do not see (Formula E) as part of my plans right now."

Formula E boss Alejandro Agag has already revealed that he'd be excited to have a name of Alonso's pedigree involved in his sport and the Spaniard has confirmed the contact between the pair.

"I have spoken with him, but it has always been clear I would not be racing there next year," Alonso added.

Alonso has reiterated his uncertainty for the near future, saying there are "two things in the air".

"Right now, there are two things in the air, but nothing has changed since two weeks ago," Alonso said. "There are two championships that I'm interested in and I need to see how I can combine them."
