Lando Norris does not understand why the FIA only checked four cars for plank wear after the US Grand Prix. According to the Brit, George Russell and Carlos Sainz should also have been disqualified.

After the US Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton were disqualified. The plank under the floor had more wear than was allowed. In other words, the ride height of both cars was too low. For this, Hamilton and Leclerc were eliminated from the results.

Disqualifications raise questions

"A little bit surprised. I would have loved it if they checked more cars!" Norris told Sky Sports ahead of the race weekend in Mexico. The Brit struggles to understand why only four cars were checked. Besides those of Hamilton and Leclerc, only the cars of Max Verstappen and Norris himself were checked.

Asked if more cars should have been checked, Norris is clear: "Yes, they should have done. I don't want to say anything, it can bite you one day. They checked mine first and we were good.' Norris is particularly surprised that Leclerc and Hamilton's teammates were not checked.

"If one car is illegal, then there’s a high chance that the other car is. The stewards and the FIA did their job, which was a good thing," the McLaren driver concluded. The FIA themselves previously stated that they are simply not able to check more or all cars after a race.
