Sergio Perez hopes to fulfil two more dreams at Red Bull. He wants to become world champion, and also wants to win his home race in Mexico. Yet he wants to achieve the latter on his own merit, he told De Limburger.

Becoming world champion is the six-time winner's biggest dream. But right behind it, the Red Bull driver has another big dream: winning the Mexican Grand Prix, his home race. On 29 October, the lights will go out at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit.

"Apart from becoming world champion, it's my biggest dream: a win in Mexico means everything to me. It's a war of attrition every year, that home race and the GP in Austin a week before. There is a lot that comes at me around those races, but as soon as the visor closes my focus is on racing. I'm going to do everything I can to win in Mexico," he says.

Does Perez want help from Verstappen?

He only has one condition. He must and will pull it off on his own. Perez will not ask for help from teammate Max Verstappen, who in all likelihood will enter the Mexican Grand Prix as a three-time world champion. "[Then] that victory would mean nothing to me. I want to do it on my own."
