Formula One chiefs have ruled out the idea of a 'super weekend' format for this season, if the world title is settled early.

Lewis Hamilton is running away with this season's world championship and can secure it as early as this weekend in America, if results go the Mercedes driver's way.

If this does happen, F1 may have a few more races of the season, with ulitmately nothing to play for at the top of the table.

F1 Managing Director Ross Brawn believes that it wouldn't be fair to trial anything as big as the 'super weekend' complex with teams lower down in the table still battling it out for positions.

"There has been some talk recently about if the championship is won then we could experiment at the end of the year, but the season isn't fully settled," Brawn explained to Motorsport.com.

"Haas is still in a fight with Renault and there are other battles further back. So we cannot mess about with the races. The reality is that even if the championship is finished up there (top of the table) it is not finished all the way through.

"You cannot just suddenly jimp in and say we are going to reverse the grids this week - we are going to do this, we are going to do that. It is too important."
