Max Verstappen is in for a historic Formula 1 season in 2023. The Dutchman is the dominant force and could smash records this season. A unique record already went down in Italy, where Verstappen won his tenth race in a row, breaking Sebastian Vettel's record of nine consecutive wins. Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur is hugely impressed with the driver from Red Bull Racing.

Verstappen dominance in 2023

Verstappen won 12 out of 14 races this season, the last 10 of which were consecutive. In the other two Grands Prix, the Dutchman 'only' finished second, behind teammate Sergio Perez. In Singapore too, Verstappen can go for another record. The Dutchman has finished first or second in all of the past 15 races, should that happen again in Singapore, Verstappen will break Michael Schumacher's record and the two-time world champion will stand at 16 consecutive top two finishes.

Vasseur impressed by Verstappen and Red Bull

Red Bull has won the last 15 races in Formula 1, which is also a record. The previous record was held by McLaren with 11, so the Austrian constructor has gone past that for a while. "What is impressive is that, for sure, they [Red Bull] have always had mega pace. From Monaco to Monza, covering all aspects of every track, they have performed," Vasseur told RaceFans.net.

"But what is most impressive for me is that Max – and not just in the last 10 races but over the last two years – hasn’t made a single mistake. For sure, it’s easier not to make a mistake when you have a margin over the others, but even in these kinds of circumstances, he is able to manage the situation very well," Vasseur said about Verstappen's recent performances.
