During the Formula 1 summer break, McLaren driver Lando Norris had time to visit the MotoGP race nearby at the Silverstone circuit. There, the Brit met Fabio Quartararo. His visit was filmed and Norris appears to have been impressed by the two-wheelers.

It was the second time for Norris to attend a MotoGP race. The first time he met his hero Valentino Rossi. Rossi does not ride these days, but he did get the chance to meet Yamaha rider and 2021 MotoGP champion Fabio Quartararo. The Briton and the Frenchman exchanged helmets.

Norris stunned by MotoGP speed

Walking around the grid, he said for the cameras of his own race team Quadrant: "I asked if the lower classes are safer than MotoGP. 'No,' he said. 'The biggest crash I've ever had was in Moto3.' I would like to do it myself, but then I have to tell not anyone I'm doing it. 100% sure, I wouldn't go straight to MotoGP. That's the end of me."

After watching the session, Norris is clearly dumbfounded: "In every corner you can just get hit [...] It's so much faster when you see it in real life. And on TV it already seems fast."
