In recent months, there have been discussions in Formula 1 for an eleventh race team on the grid. The king class of motorsport is hugely popular and more races with more teams could then provide more excitement and entertainment. Günther Steiner, however, thinks otherwise. Speaking to GPblog, he told his concern.

"At the moment we are at the peak and everything seems Formula 1 is only growing, there is never an end to it. We can have 56 races a year and 22 teams in here and everything would be happy. But I think we've made big growth in the last year, it's very stable, you've got 10 very good teams and if you change something, it could go the other way," Steiner said.

The Haas team boss that there are now ten good teams in Formula 1. This was not always the case in the past, according to him. "We never had 10 stable teams, so why do you think all of a sudden there could be 12 in no time? Formula One is a pretty old sport and they had never 10 good teams," Steiner said.

Earlier, Max Verstappen indicated that the number of Formula 1 races on the calendar does not appeal to him. The reigning world champion told that 24 races in one season is actually too fully scheduled.
