Schumacher: 'This is another reason why no teammate stands a chance against Verstappen'

Not only does Michael Schumacher have a racing son, brother Ralf Schumacher also has a talented son. David Schumacher currently competes in the German DTM. A career in Formula 1 is not in the cards, although David closely follows the pinnacle of motorsport. He too sees Max Verstappen excelling every Grand Prix.

Unlike Michael Schumacher, Ralf's family never hung out with the Verstappens. Speaking to German Express, David says he never met Max. He is, however, impressed by the now two-time world champion, who is so dominant that the competition struggles on a weekly basis. One journalist from the medium even suggests that it is boring, just like the races with an in-top-form Michael Schumacher. David thinks otherwise.

Era like Schumacher's

"No. It has happened many times. My uncle dominated Formula 1 with Ferrari, later Mercedes did it from 2014 to 2020 with Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull and Max are doing their job best at the moment. Still, I believe the others will slowly creep closer again. McLaren has already demonstrated that impressively in Budapest and Spa."

Schumacher continued: "As for Max, he is hugely talented, lightning fast and with his aggressive driving style he quickly gained the necessary respect from his colleagues. In addition, Red Bull adapts the car specifically to his driving style. He likes oversteer and a lot of downforce on the front end, which not every driver can deal with. That is one of the reasons why no teammate has had a chance against him so far."
