Coronel: Renault certainly does not want to help Red Bull

Coronel: "Renault certainly does not want to help Red Bull"

The former racing driver Tom Coronel is convinced Red Bull will be stronger with a Honda engine next season. According to the Dutch legend, the change of engine manufacturer is only a good choice.

The Renault engine will complete the season inside the Red Bull, but it is clear it's not close to Mercedes or Ferrari. With the upgrades Honda are bringing to the Toro Rosso car, it looks like the Japanese manufacturer has greater potential.

"I am a thousand percent convinced that Honda will do well at Red Bull. They do not give up," Coronel told Formula 1.

Honda's passion and fight has been tested with their years at McLaren. If they were going to be knocked over, that would have happened a long time ago with things not running well when they returned in the McLaren.

"They just need some time now, but look at McLaren. Everything would have been on Honda now, but they are still not ahead with Renault," Coronel added.

"On the basis of engine data, Renault sees exactly how their chassis compares with that of Red Bull, and they really do not want to help Red Bull, but go by with the factory team, but Honda is an independent partner."
