After spending 8 years at Ferrari, we can say that Felipe Massa knows the Italian team very well. In fact, the Brazilian driver's peak in the main category of motor racing was with the iconic Scuderia, where Felipe almost won the world title in 2008 - a subject that recently came to the fore again after Bernie Ecclestone's controversial statement, who admitted he knew about the whole scheme orchestrated by Flavio Briatore in Singapore later that year.

Felipe Massa is currently competing in Stock Car racing for the Lubrax | Podium Stock Car Team. However, in a recent interview given to GPblog, the Brazilian commented a little on the Ferrari situation and what he thinks about Frédéric Vasseur, the current team boss.

Ferrari situation

After eight races this season, Ferrari is 4th in the constructors' championship with 122 points, almost 200 points behind leader Red Bull. In 2022, the Italian team even managed to get involved in the title race during the first half of the season, but after a series of strategic mistakes and the drivers themselves, Red Bull managed to win the championship quite quietly. So Ferrari were hoping to come in stronger this year, but still continue to struggle.

"Ferrari is coming at a difficult moment in the championship. The team still has a lot to do, a lot to improve," Massa told GPblog.

Charge on Vasseur

Speaking about Ferrari's new team boss - who was announced as the replacement for the criticised Binotto at the end of last season - the Brazilian praised Vasseur highly, but also charged the Frenchman. "Vasseur is a professional guy, he is a guy who has a very big success in other categories, and he was very important at Alfa Romeo... but he needs to act," Massa began. "He needs to act. He needs to arrive and show the service. He has to show changes and he has to show results, otherwise, he will be the one who pays in the end. Time goes by and things have to happen and there has to be an important result for the team.

"Vasseur is an important guy, but he needs to act, and things need to improve. But the moment of Ferrari, without a doubt, is a difficult moment," concluded Massa.
