Nyck de Vries has already faced criticism from the likes of Helmut Marko this season, but the Dutchman is still in the AlphaTauri for now. But De Vries believes it is unfair to read successes off just numbers and statistics while speaking to The Athletic.

"I don’t measure success purely and solely by numbers because I think that it doesn’t quite do all the other work justice. Because it’s not a fair enough read on all the work and all the time you’ve spent towards your dreams and goals," says the 28-year-old driver.

"It’s also always about getting better. It’s never a linear line to success," the Dutchman continued. De Vries recently suffered a 'yellow card' from Marko, but we hear less and less about a possible replacement for the ever-improving AlphaTauri racing driver.

Despite the fact that the Formula 1 driver seems to be getting better and better results, he is still prone to quite a few mistakes. Will De Vries finish the season in Formula 1? Vote in the poll below, and let us know what you think.
