Valtteri Bottas saw his teammate Guanyu Zhou drive in the points at the Spanish Grand Prix last weekend. The 33-year-old Finn revealed during a press event, which GPblog also attended, what his goals are for this season.

"Being able to get consistently on the points, like every race, I think that's the realistic target now for the remaining season. There's a few teams that are going to be tough to beat, no doubt, but it's what it is, that's where we are now. But we want to be better."

Bottas not satisfied

Bottas' season has been dramatic. Only in the first Grand Prix in Bahrain did the experienced Finn manage to gain points thanks to an eighth-place finish. "In the beginning of the year I had some vision of where I wanted to be finishing, but yes, I had to definitely re-evaluate a bit," said the former Mercedes driver.

"Definitely we're not where we want to be, and I'm not having the results that I want to be getting, because of course the goal for us this year was to make a step up and be better, and that's not been the case," Bottas told reporters.
