Verstappen is the third highest paid athlete 25 and under on Forbes list
- Toby McLuskie
Max Verstappen is doing well at Red Bull Racing. The 25-year-old Dutchman gets tens of millions of euros credited to his bank account every year and Forbes knows how much the Formula 1 driver has received over the past 12 months. Only two athletes aged 25 or younger did better than Verstappen in that respect.
Thanks to his Formula 1 performance, Verstappen could count on around $64 million between 1 May 2022 and 1 May 2023. $60 million of this consists of all prize money, salaries and bonuses. The remaining $4 million Verstappen earned from off-track income such as sponsorship deals.
Mbappé best paid athlete
Kylian Mbappé (25) is the absolute number one in the list of best-earning athletes 25 and under. The French striker of football team Paris Saint-Germain picked up around $120 million last year, $100 million of which is directly due to his performance on the pitch. NFL player Kyler Murray (25) received just over $70 million.
Verstappen is thus number three in the list, keeping players like Manchester City footballer Erling Haaland and NBA player Luka Doncic below him. Interestingly, Murray, Haaland and Doncic are included in Forbes' list for the first time. So they are also automatically the most highly ranked newcomers.
