On April 27th, Helmut Marko will celebrate his 80th birthday. There is little doubt about the Red Bull Racing adviser's abilities, but speculations are emerging here and there about a possible successor once he decides to retire. Yuki Tsunoda also has a suitable candidate in mind, which is a familiar face for Red Bull.

Tsunoda hints at possible successor Marko

When asked on the Beyond the Grid podcast whether he sees Sebastian Vettel ever taking over from Franz Tost as AlphaTauri team boss, Tsunoda can imagine that scenario. However, he is more likely to see the former Formula One driver taking on another role at Red Bull.

"I would be really interested to see how Sebastian would be as a team manager," the 22-year-old Japanese explained. "He can be anything. For example, what Helmut is doing now with Red Bull juniors. I think Sebastian would also be very good at taking care of Red Bull juniors because he's one of the most successful drivers in Formula 1."

The AlphaTauri driver cites his own experience with the four-time world champion as an example. "I can tell from all the race briefings from last year, he always said the points where we have to improve in terms of track, the curb or something like that. He was the first guy to raise his hand, so I think Sebastian can be that guy," Tsunoda said.
