Ferrari had a trouble-free second day of testing in Bahrain. After driving 136 laps on Thursday, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz drove two more on Friday. The drivers look back on the first two days of the winter test with a good feeling.

Leclerc and Sainz happy

First it was Sainz's turn, who took charge of the morning session. In it, the Spaniard drove 70 laps and set the fastest time of the session. "It’s been another positive day," he said in a Ferrari press release. "Reliability was again very good and we've been able to explore all the set-ups we targeted to test."

He continued: "We keep exploring the limits of the car and finding potential areas where we can maximise performance. The main target is to keep up the good work tomorrow and get ready for next week."

Teammate Leclerc came into action in the afternoon session in the SF-23, in which he drove 68 laps on Friday. He too was positive about the first two days of testing, during which the Italian racing stable is said to have focused mainly on tuning.

"We ran various tests today, with our main focus on the car’s set-up," the Monegasque explained. "We are working hard and it’s still too early to make any judgement yet. It was good to get some more laps down and we will keep pushing forward by analysing our data ahead of the last day of testing tomorrow."
