Leclerc has healthy competition with Sainz: 'Propels us forward'
- GPblog.com
Charles Leclerc is very enthusiastic about the way Frederic Vasseur has started at Ferrari. The Monegasque told Motorsport.com that his new team boss has no problem sensing what the Italian formation needs.
Vasseur has many years of experience in Formula 1, but according to Leclerc, getting started at Ferrari is completely different. However, the driver is convinced that he will fit well within the team and thus help Ferrari move forward quickly.
"Ferrari is huge. Once he came here, however, from the first days he understood very well how Ferrari works," Leclerc stated. "He is very clear in what he wants and is extremely good at empowering people. That way they are able to give their best. And that's very important."
Leclerc happy with Sainz
Carlos Sainz and Leclerc are teammates for the third year in a row. Although both men are very fanatical on track, Leclerc stressed that off track he gets along well with the Spaniard. He therefore has a lot of respect for Sainz.
"We also share many passions off the track, such as golf, padel and chess. We have a lot of fun. When we are together, we have a very good relationship. Of course, we are very competitive, both on and off the course, with padel. But it's a healthy competition and I think it propels us forward."
