Lando Norris drove his first miles of the year at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona on Wednesday. In the MCL35M, the 2021 car, he was allowed to test for the McLaren.

In a month's time, the first race of the season is around the corner, so slowly the drivers are coming back after a well-earned holiday and are also training hard after the winter break. More and more teams are therefore announcing a test day in the run-up to the new season. For instance, the drivers from Alpha Tauri will also be in action at Paul Ricard next weekend.

Norris in cold Spain

In Barcelona on Wednesday, McLaren hosted a special test day and Norris has been spotted in the 2021 McLaren. These are the first steps to getting ready for the upcoming season. Despite regular hot weather in Spain, there is little sign of it if the pictures shared by McLaren on social media are to be believed. The young Brit is wearing a warm team hat. Unfortunately, no moving images of the test have been shared on the Woking-based team's social channels.

Whether Norris' new teammate Oscar Piastri will also be in action for McLaren is not known. However, eyes will undoubtedly be on him next season after he was the protagonist in a contractual dispute between McLaren and Alpine.
