Theo Pourchaire will again be seen in Formula 2 next season. The Frenchman will remain active with his team ART Grand Prix and will also fill the role of Alfa Romeo's reserve driver.

After finishing second in Formula 3 in 2020, Pourchaire made the move to F2. At ART, he became the youngest race winner and polesitter ever in Monaco. Last season, Pourchaire entered the title fight with Aston Martin junior Felipe Drugovich. With three wins and four podium finishes, Pourchaire eventually finished in second place.

With no seat yet vacated at Alfa Romeo with the extension of Guanyu Zhou and the multi-year contract of Valtteri Bottas, Pourchaire will continue to drive in F2 for another year. "I couldn't be happier to extend my career in this top-level Formula 2 championship with ART Grand Prix, which has become a family to me. We have had intense moments over the past three years and it's important to prepare for the 2023 championship with a team that knows me and knows how to put me in the best possible situations," Pourchaire said on the official website of the F2.

Sauber junior goes for F2 title

"We may have lacked success last year, but we gained experience that makes us even stronger. I will do everything I can to bring the title to ART Grand Prix this season", says the Sauber junior. Besides his F2 participation, Pourchaire also has responsibilities at Alfa Romeo as a reserve driver for the Formula 1 team. In 2022, he made his F1 debut with the team during the first free practice of the US Grand Prix. It is likely we will also see Pourchaire behind the wheel of the Alfa Romeo car again this upcoming season.
