Cesare Fiorio is very confident in Frederic Vasseur's abilities. The Frenchman is gearing up for his first season as Ferrari team boss, in which he should be able to compete for the world title with the team. Although it will be a big challenge, Fiorio believes he has the qualities.

The former sporting director of Ferrari, among others, knows what it takes to be successful at the Italians. The formation is under a lot of pressure every year because of the high expectations it has, so Vasseur will have to perform quickly to take the pressure off.

It means that Mattia Binotto's successor will be working hard from this month to mould the team to his liking. In doing so, Fiorio thinks it is mainly important to get the expectations clear in all departments, so that everyone has the same goal in mind.

"Vasseur is not coming from under a rock and will find a way to make it at the top, building on Binotto's excellent base," Fiorio stated in conversation with Corriere dello Sport. "He will have to enable the team to further develop the car over the course of the season. And he has to make the right strategic choices."

Binotto departure opportunity for Audi

Finally, he has bright advice for Audi. Indeed, since Binotto has left Ferrari, he believes Audi has the opportunity to bring in a wealth of knowledge. Fiorio expects Binotto can help the team quite a bit to achieve success from 2026, when it will join Formula 1.
