FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem announced in a tweet that an Expressions of Interest process will be launched in the future for potential new F1 teams.

This process will allow future teams and owners to have a chance to join the Formula 1 grid in the future. The FIA will then examine the entries based on their legal requirements and their own selection criteria for future entries to join the king class.

Good news for Andretti family?

More information about the procedure is not shared by the FIA top man in the tweet in question, but what is certain is that it is positive for the likes of Michael Andretti. Indeed, the American does not hide the fact that plans for an Andretti F1 team are still alive and well. Despite previous opposition from Liberty Media, the FIA and the existing F1 teams, Andretti recently revealed that the goal is still to be the 11th team on the grid by 2024.
