Binotto says goodbye at Ferrari, Vasseur gets guided tour

Mattia Binotto experienced his last day at Ferrari on Wednesday, writes Motorsport.com. The Italian bid farewell to the Italian formation after no less than 27 years, during which he was involved as team boss for four years and assumed the role of technical director for three.

The former leader of Ferrari's team had to step down because of disappointing results in 2022. Indeed, the team looked set to compete for the world title this season, but due to several problems in the team, among others, the year ended in disappointment. Max Verstappen was therefore able to take the world title fairly easily.

Frederic Vasseur, who succeeds Binotto, was immediately welcomed to Maranello this week to meet the employees and receive a tour. In doing so, the Frenchman was accompanied on Monday and Tuesday by Laurent Mekies, who briefed him extensively. Vasseur will officially start at his new employer on 9 January.

More involvement Vigna with Ferrari team

According to the medium, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna will become more explicitly involved in the Formula 1 team from next calendar year. Vigna was reportedly personally involved in the decision to let Binotto leave and hopes to make great progress with Ferrari in the coming period.
