Mika Hakkinen has responded to the incident between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. The Finn believes that the team always comes first, but does say that it is not clear to the outside world what agreements Max Verstappen had with Red Bull Racing.

Verstappen was asked on the last lap to let his Mexican teammate Perez pass him again to provide him with extra points for the battle for second place in the championship. The reigning world champion refused to do so and made it clear over the radio that he was not served by such requests. Although according to several gentlemen at Red Bull Racing, the issue has been resolved internally and looks ahead to the final race in Abu Dhabi, it seems that there is more going on in Milton Keynes.

'Team in first place'

Yet former world champion and Viaplay analyst Mika Hakkinen says the following on the matter:"The team always comes first. If there is an agreement on the cooperation between you and your teammate, it is always best to stick to it." He continued that nobody knows the exact agreements between Max and Red Bull, but it is clear that the Dutchman is the first driver. " In return, he brought the team two world titles," says the Finn's column for Unibet.

The season finale in Abu Dhabi is scheduled for next Sunday. Several battles will be decided there for both championships. Perez and Leclerc are thus battling for second place, while Ferrari will try everything to keep Mercedes behind them in the battle for spot two among the constructors.
