Norris wants more racing: 'I’d crash again!'

Lando Norris is already thinking about his racing career beyond Formula 1. For instance, the young Briton is considering competing in the Daytona 24-hour race one day, but it does not quite fit into his schedule right now.
For Formula 1 drivers, finding time besides racing is difficult. Drivers had 22 race weekends scheduled this season and even 24 races are scheduled for 2023. So for ambitious drivers like Norris, who aspire to more racing classes besides F1, it will take some patience until after their F1 career.
Opportunities for Norris
''I would love to drive more. I would love to get more opportunities. Formula 1 is my life at the minute — and DJing! — but I understand that. But doing the Daytona 24 hours and things like that I would love to do, and I’m sure in maybe 10 or 20 years I will have that opportunity, or more opportunities to do it,'' Norris said opposite Racer.com.
''Now with 24 (F1) races, whenever you have downtime you just want to go away and forget about Formula 1 for a couple of days and then you come back to it, so it’s not as easy as maybe it once was, or you don’t have as much time as maybe you once had.''
Whereas Ricciardo has already been put in his hero Dale Earnhardt's car by Brown, Norris has yet to figure out what he would like. Brown likes to take him everywhere, but Norris himself does not have an icon he looks up to. ''Maybe a motorbike, but I probably wouldn’t be able to come back to four wheels if I went motorbiking because I’d crash again!'' the 22-year-old driver concludes.
