According to Autosport.com Red Bull Racing, Aston Martin and the FIA have reached an agreement on the penalties for the budget cap breach. The news is expected to be announced on the Friday of the Mexico Grand Prix.
The announcement of the deal between Red Bull and the FIA has been in the air for a while after several talks in Austin between Christian Horner and FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem. However, the talks were suspended following the death of Dietrich Mateschitz. More news was expected ahead of the Mexico GP and, according to Autosport.com, we can expect to hear about Red Bull and Aston Martin's punishment on Friday.
Agreement between FIA and Red Bull
The teams have signed a so-called Accepted Breach Agreement, in which Red Bull and Aston Martin confirm that they acknowledge any breach and accept any penalties. Aston Martin has also come to an agreement with the FIA, but the consequences are less severe because of the procedural breach.
Red Bull will reportedly face sporting and financial penalties. The team is expected to receive a reduction in wind tunnel time in 2023. Red Bull will also receive a fine for the offence. For Aston Martin, it will only be a financial penalty.
