Charles Leclerc will start the Italian Grand Prix from pole position on Sunday afternoon. The Monegasque will be followed by George Russell and Lando Norris who will start the race from second and third respectively.

Will Verstappen start from P4 or P7?

Max Verstappen was put several places back due to a grid penalty, but he is just one of the many drivers who get a grid penalty. At first it looked like Verstappen would be starting from P4, but now he is starting from P7. Although an official message from the FIA is still pending, it currently seems that Verstappen is right and that it will be P7. The Dutchman may not get any help from Sergio Perez in the early stages, as the Mexican will start from P10.

Carlos Sainz will also receive a grid penalty. The Spaniard set a great third time in qualifying, but will start the race from eighteenth. McLaren, meanwhile, is profiting from the situation of the competition. Where Lando Norris takes P3, Daniel Ricciardo starts from fifth place.

Nyck de Vries can be very satisfied with his first day of racing. The Dutchman worked hard in Monza to set up a good qualifying session and took the eighth starting position. If the latest reports are correct, this means that he will start alongside Verstappen on an all-Dutch fourth row.
