Police stop group of eighty Dutchmen at 'illegal plan'

The Italian police have intervened at a campsite during the Monza Grand Prix, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport . A group, which included eighty Dutch nationals, were reportedly planning to build their own grandstand to experience the Formula One weekend.

They had taken along scaffolding, pipes, fittings and platforms to complete the project. Some of the group are said to have had alcohol before starting the challenge. However, the police quickly intervened.

They quickly got the situation under control and confiscated all the equipment they had on hand, forcing the group to find another way to experience the race weekend. There have reportedly been no arrests.

Verstappen starts GP with difficulty

Verstappen was unable to set the fastest time during the first two free practices. While the reigning world champion was fifth fastest in the first session, he was second fastest later in the day. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz both managed first place, which gave them confidence for the remaining two days of the race.
