Full results FP2 GP Italy | Sainz beats out Verstappen
Max Verstappen failed to set the fastest time in the second free practice session as well. In the first practice session he saw Charles Leclerc take the first place, but this time it was Carlos Sainz he had to accept. With second place, the Dutchman made a clear step forward.
Leclerc was good for a third time on Friday afternoon, while Lando Norris and George Russell completed the top five. They kept Sergio Perez behind them. After his fourteenth place in the first session, the Mexican finished sixth this time.

Mixed results at McLaren
Lando Norris took an excellent fourth place, with which McLaren finished ahead of Mercedes. His fellow countryman George Russell took the fifth time, while Lewis Hamilton was no further than seventh. Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso and Alexander Albon also finished in the top ten.
Compared to Norris, Daniel Ricciardo's performance was again disappointing. He set the eleventh fastest time, over a second slower than Sainz. Yuki Tsunoda finished eighth in the first practice session, but had to settle for fifteenth later in the day.
