For months there has been talk of a possible deal between Red Bull Racing and Porsche. The latter would enter Formula 1 and take over half of the team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Everyone expected the announcement of the collaboration during the Austrian Grand Prix, the home race of the Austrian racing team. But there was a deafening silence. Also the following weeks nothing was revealed and still it has not been announced if the two parties will continue together.

In Austria, a major announcement was expected, as is always the case with such news. Porsche would return to Formula 1 and take over part of the shares of Red Bull Racing. The big news did not materialise, the race was driven and drivers and teams moved on to the next circuit. There has still been no announcement and there are rumours in the paddock that it has to do with team boss Christian Horner.

Wild speculations

Horner is reportedly concerned about his position as team principal if Porsche were to take over part of Red Bull Racing. Horner, who recently extended his contract with the Austrian team, said he was aware of the rumour and dismissed it as nonsense, according to Motorsport.com All the talks we had were indeed dependent on the management structure remaining the same. That has always been fully accepted, so I don't think I really need to comment on wild speculation."

Helmut Marko has already confirmed this week that there will be no deal if Porsche wants to take over part of the shares. That would be exactly what Porsche wants and with that a deal seems off the tabel.
