Verstappen notices challenge: "But it's still a quick car"

Max Verstappen looks back on qualifying for the Dutch Grand Prix with a satisfied feeling. The Dutchman drove an excellent lap in Q3 and managed to keep Charles Leclerc off P1. According to Verstappen, however, he had a tougher time than in Belgium.

At the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Verstappen apparently had little trouble securing a victory. In Zandvoort, however, it was a different story. The reigning world champion had to pull out all the stops at the end of the qualifying session and eventually won.

Verstappen happy with his car

At the FIA press conference, Verstappen expressed pride in his performance. The Dutch driver saw that he and Red Bull Racing started the race weekend with a rough start, but that his team proved capable of a great performance in a short space of time.

"Yeah, that I think we have a complete car," Verstappen stated proudly. "I mean, you can see how quickly it changes though because in Spa we were dominant. Here, it looked a bit tricky initially and now it was very close in qualifying. So, you can clearly see on the higher downforce tracks that we seem to, let's say, struggle a little bit more to extract the best out of the car. But it's still a quick car."
