Max Verstappen was called to the stewards yesterday after an incident at the end of the second free practice session. The Dutchman was given a warning by the FIA and received no further penalties.

No penalty for Verstappen

At the end of the second free practice session many drivers went out briefly to make a test start. On Friday after practice Verstappen was called to the stewards for this, but now it appears that the FIA does not deem it necessary to hand out penalties.

"The driver of car 1 passed a car that was in line to do practice starts and cut into the line to do a practice start, thereby not leaving in the order he arrived," reads the stewards' statement.

Verstappen already starts from the back

The stewards limited themselves to a slap on the wrist for Verstappen. No further penalties were handed out. Verstappen would have had to start from the back of the grid in Belgium anyway, due to a change of engine parts.
