This season's French Grand Prix was a spectacle, with Charles Leclerc among others dropping out and Max Verstappen eventually winning. The Dutchman can therefore call himself the winner in the GPblog Driver of the Day election.

The reigning world champion received no less than 44 percent of the vote for his victory. He thus increased his world championship lead over Charles Leclerc to 63 points, allowing himself some breathing space.

Carlos Sainz took 30 percent of the vote to secure second place. The Spaniard had to fight his way up from nineteenth position due to a grid penalty. With hard work he eventually managed to finish second, with which he can be very satisfied.

Hamilton rewarded for second place

Lewis Hamilton received 20 percent of the votes for his excellent second place finish in France. The Briton again drove a flawless race and managed to reward himself with a place behind Verstappen. This time, however, he has to beat Sainz.
