The French Grand Prix ended badly for Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque was still in the lead after eighteen laps, but the driver crashed his Ferrari into the wall and was unable to continue his race.

A painful team radio followed, with Leclerc shouting in frustration. The Monegasque takes home zero points again in the title fight against Max Verstappen. The Dutchman was able to take over the lead of the race under the safety car. Leclerc confirmed to Sky Sports that it was his own fault.

"This snap was a weird one," Leclerc stated. "For me it was a mistake and we need to analyze it. Trying to push too much and I lost the rear. I struggled with the rear all weekend. I did a mistake a the wrong moment."

Misunderstanding of own mistake

He is therefore quite angry with himself. "As I have been saying I am performing at the highest point of my career and if I continue to make those mistakes it's pointless to perform at a very high level. I am loosing too many points. It is unacceptable. I need to get on top of those things. I try to analyse," Leclerc added.
