Max Verstappen was the absolute king this weekend at Imola by taking a 'Grand Slam'. The Dutchman was the fastest in qualifying, sprint race, race and he took the extra World Cup point for the fastest lap. The Red Bull Racing driver was officially voted Driver of the Day by Formula 1 fans worldwide. Do the readers of GPblog agree?

We seem to be able to fill in the answer already, but still there were several drivers who did seriously well in Italy. Where Lewis Hamilton was nowhere to be seen, George Russell drove to a very nice fourth place. An impressive performance with a W13 that doesn't really seem to move forward.

Lando Norris also proved once again why McLaren recently made him a much improved contract offer. The young Briton had a good start, made no mistakes and managed to seize the third and final podium spot in Italy! Valtteri Bottas and Yuki Tsunoda also did above expectations Sunday with fifth and seventh places respectively.

And what about Sergio Perez, the runner-up. He managed to keep Charles Leclerc behind him all afternoon, doing Verstappen a great service. That is also worth mentioning!
