More details known about all-new Formula 1 game in 2022

F1 Manager 2022 comes out this summer and with it, Formula 1 fans have a new game to look forward to. In addition to Codemasters' F1 game, you can now take on the role of a team boss. In the preview from Formula1.com more is revealed about the content of the game.

Codemasters already came up with a "My Team" feature in the F1 game which gave you a kind of double role as a driver. Besides driving the races you also had to take care of the team. As team owner and driver you decided which updates were put on the car and who your teammate was. With F1 Manager 2022, this is extended even further.

Looking at the menus it is clear that F1 has taken a good look at Motorsport Manager. This was until recently the only management game for Formula 1, but it did not have the licenses. These were available for download, but the extra stuff F1 now gives to F1 Manager cannot be achieved with an update package.

Become a team boss in Formula 1

For those players familiar with Motorsport Manager, F1 Manager 2022 doesn't look much different, nor is the game very different in its fundamentals. You take control of an F1 team as a team boss and have to decide everything yourself. You make choices about how your factory is developed, you make choices for the development of the car and you choose which drivers you contract. All this is under strict supervision of the budget cap.

During the race weekends you also take control. In practice you work on the setup of the car, before you send your driver out on Saturday to set the fastest lap at the right time and with the right setup.
