Successful Ferrari F1-75: 'Same characteristics as Schumacher's car'

Ferrari is having a hopeful season in Formula 1. The Italian racing stable is at the top of the World Championship after three Grands Prix with Charles Leclerc and also seems to be the favorite for victory in Imola. The situation hardly surprises Marc Surer, he told F1insider.com.

At the end of last season, Ferrari already managed to set up a great final sprint and even take the third position in the constructors' championship from McLaren. With this, the team of Leclerc and Carlos Sainz showed that it was ready for the new regulations that came into effect in 2022.

During the winter tests in Barcelona and Bahrain, it was already clear that Ferrari was among the best teams. In Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia, the Italians lived up to that favorite role. Not only is the team now far ahead of the competition in terms of points, the qualities of the car are also encouraging.

Surer regularly has to think back to the period when Michael Schumacher was successful at Ferrari. "This year's Ferrari has the same characteristics as Schumacher's car during the successful period," Surer states. "They were fast everywhere and in all conditions, had great traction and always got the most out of the tires."
